Dear AMS Students and Families,
Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year at AMS! I want to begin by extending a heartfelt congratulations to our Class of 2026 graduates, we’re so proud of all you’ve accomplished, and by warmly welcoming our incoming Class of 2029, along with all new students and families joining the AMS community.
At AMS, our mission is to support all students in becoming deep and creative thinkers, effective communicators, and thoughtful collaborators. Throughout your time with us, you’ll be challenged and encouraged to grow these skills in every class. We hope this year inspires you to see the world from new perspectives, uncover hidden strengths, and explore fresh interests and passions.
Strong partnerships between families and the school are essential to student success, and I’m excited to continue building those relationships this year. One key tool in that partnership is this Family Calendar, designed to help you stay informed and engaged. Inside, you’ll find important dates, event descriptions, and, sprinkled throughout, some stunning artwork created by our talented students during the 2025–2026 school year.
Please keep in mind that some events, such as guest speakers, college visits, and our popular AMS Loves trips, may be added throughout the year and aren’t reflected in the calendar. We promise to keep you updated regularly, so please keep an eye on your email and expect to hear from us often.
If you have any questions about the calendar or anything else, feel free to reach out to me directly at twagenaar23@unitedcharter.org.Looking forward to a joyful and productive year together.
Warmly,
Tina Wagenaar

Each August, we host our Summer Bridge program for incoming 9th and 10th graders, as well as new transfer students. This program helps students get a head start on the school year—meeting teachers and classmates, learning our expectations, receiving their school uniform, and becoming familiar with our community and culture.
We offer a wide range of afterschool clubs and activities. Club days vary, and offerings change based on student interests. Some of our most popular clubs include:
United Charter High School for Advanced Math and Science II combines a 99% graduation rate and strong AP/college programs with counseling, mentorship, and community partnerships to nurture student growth, resilience, and postsecondary success.
