United Charter High Schools Celebrates AMS II Principal Sandy Manessis, at Power Women of the Bronx Event
The United Charter, High Schools network, proudly announces that Sandy Manessis, Principal of Advanced Math and Science (AMS) II in the Bronx, was honoured as an ICON Recipient at this year’s Power Women of the Bronx event on October 23, 2024. This prestigious award recognizes influential industry trailblazers for their exceptional contributions to business, community, and leadership.
“This was not only an honor for me, but for the work that we do as a team at United Charter High School for Advanced Math and Science II,” said Manessis. “This award represents not only the quality education we provide in our classrooms but also our commitment to providing access to external opportunities that will best prepare students and their families for their post-secondary success.”
The Power Women of the Bronx celebrates fearless women who help make the Bronx a vibrant and thriving place to work, live, and conduct business. Their motto: *When women support women, amazing things happen.*
United Charter High Schools’ CEO, Dr. Curtis Palmore, commended Principal Manessis for her steadfast commitment to student success, saying, “This recognition is well-deserved. The red-carpet celebration included over 40 influential women leaders, among them Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson. They danced down the red carpet with the community in attendance, celebrating the women who continue to inspire growth and opportunity in the Bronx.
