City & State NY speaks with UCHS Leader Dr. Curtis Palmore During Black History Month

Seven students stand in a row indoors, each holding a large poster with hand-drawn diagrams and illustrations, likely presenting a group project.

In a Black History Month interview with @cityandstateny, United Charter High Schools CEO Dr. Curtis Palmore discussed how federal policy shifts could create additional barriers for Black and Brown students, particularly in college affordability.

At UCHS, we are responding by expanding access and preparation through:

🎓 College preparatory courses and dual enrollment
💼 Career pathways and internships
💰 Financial planning workshops for families
✊🏾 An HBCU Tour this April, supported by Black History Month workshops celebrating culture and excellence

As we celebrate 100 years of Black History Month, we continue to affirm every student and strengthen pathways to college, careers, and civic life.
