Our Approach

Accelerated learning prepares our scholars for college, careers and beyond. YES HUM CAN, our graduation plan, sets up students for success after high school with college- and career-related trips and internship opportunities throughout the year. Our strong academic program offers double subject periods, intense tutoring, academic intervention services, early college courses and internships. Additional learning time each day, along with our Summer Bridge program, gives scholars extra time to deepen their understanding of every subject. HUM scholars learn by doing. Focusing on real-world problems, students master knowledge and then present and defend their work to an audience. Students learn best through experiences that allow them to engage in research, explore and experience concepts, texts and materials, explain their point of view, elaborate their learning, evaluate findings, use technology and other tools for presentations, create evidence-based writing and conduct discussions.
