At United Charter High Schools (UCHS), being “college and career ready” begins on the first day of freshman year. Through four years of rigorous academics, comprehensive college advising, and real-world experiences, we help students build the skills, knowledge, and confidence to succeed. Our 2026 College & Career Fair, held at UCHS Advanced Math & Science in the Bronx, brought more than 450 students face-to-face with incredible opportunities for life after high school.
Over 50 colleges and employers set up tables on campus, ready to talk with our students about their future after graduation. Representatives from Syracuse University, St. John’s University, CUNY, SUNY, and others answered questions about admissions, majors, and campus life. Students also connected with employers and organizations like the MTA, NewYork-Presbyterian, and the FBI, discovering career pathways many had never considered.
The fair gave students a chance to practice the skills they build every day: asking thoughtful questions, making a strong first impression, and envisioning where their hard work can take them. Some left with a new college on their shortlist. Others found a career field that sparked an interest. Every one of them walked away seeing their future a little more clearly.
This type of event is at the heart of what UCHS does. Our comprehensive college advising, internships, and AP and dual-credit courses all point toward the same goal: helping every student step confidently into life after high school.
